As a speech therapist, I know how important it is to have the right resources when working with young children. That’s why I am excited to share with y’all these free speech therapy articulation picture cards that focus on the initial J sound.
Now, we all know that the J sound can be tricky for some of our little ones, but with the help of these cards, they’ll be on their way to saying “jump” and “jelly” in no time.
Let’s take a closer look at each card. First up, we have a picture of a jar. See how the lips come together to make the initial J sound? Encourage your child to do the same while saying “jar.”
Next, we have a picture of a jellyfish. This one can be a bit of a tongue-twister, but with practice, your child will be saying “jellyfish” with ease.
Moving on, we have a picture of a jungle. Remind your child to make the initial J sound as they say “jungle.”
We also have a picture of a jacket. This one is a great opportunity to show your child how the lips and tongue work together to make the J sound while saying “jacket.”
