Welcome to the wonderful world of English alphabet pronunciation. Are you excited to learn how to pronounce each letter correctly? Well, you’re in the right place!
Let’s start with the first letter of the alphabet, the letter A. To pronounce the letter A, simply put your mouth in a wide “ah” position, like you’re at the dentist, and say “ay”. That’s it! You’re now on your way to mastering the English alphabet.
Next up is the letter B. To pronounce the letter B, put your lips together and say “bee”. Be careful not to add an extra “uh” sound after the “b”.
Moving on to letter C, this one can be a little tricky. To pronounce the letter C, put your tongue at the roof of your mouth and say “see”. Now here’s the tricky part, sometimes the letter C can sound like a “k” instead of a “s” sound. For example, in the word cat, the C sounds like a “k”.
The letter D is next on our list. To pronounce the letter D, place your tongue at the roof of your mouth and say “dee”. Be sure not to include an extra “uh” sound at the end.
Now we’ve made it to the letter E. To pronounce the letter E, put your mouth in a wide “eh” position, like you’re smiling, and say “ee”. Easy peasy!
The letter F is up next. To pronounce the letter F, put your upper teeth on your lower lip and say “eff”. Make sure not to add an extra “uh” sound after the “f”.
The letter G can also be a little tricky. To pronounce the letter G, put your tongue at the roof of your mouth and say “gee”. Just like the letter C, sometimes the G can sound like a “j” instead of a “g” sound, for example in the word giraffe.
Moving on to the letter H, put your breath out and say “aitch”. Don’t forget to breathe out for this one!
The letter I is next on our list. To pronounce the letter I, put your mouth in a wide “ih” position, like you’re saying “it”, and say “eye”.
Next up is the letter J. To pronounce the letter J, say “jay” like “blue jay”. Make sure not to include an extra “uh” sound after the “j”.
The letter K is simple. To pronounce the letter K, put your tongue at the roof of your mouth and say “kay”.
The letter L is next. To pronounce the letter L, say “ell” like you’re spelling it out.
Moving on to the letter M, put your lips together and say “em”. Make sure not to add an extra “uh” sound at the end.
The letter N is up next. To pronounce the letter N, put your tongue at the roof of your mouth and say “en”. Don’t forget to breathe out for this one!
The letter O is easy. To pronounce the letter O, put your mouth in a wide “oh” position, like you’re saying “open”, and say “oh”.
The letter P is next on our list. To pronounce the letter P, put your lips together and say “pee”. Don’t forget to breathe out for this one!
We’ve made it to the end of our pronunciation guide! With a little bit of practice, you’ll be pronouncing the English alphabet like a pro in no time. Remember, each letter has its own unique sound, and with a little patience and perseverance, you’ll be well on your way to mastering the English language.
